Update 6:00 AM 8/28 – (Kauai) Kuhio Hwy at Hanalei Bridge is closed due to the rising river. The roads are open, but drive with caution. Update 10:40 AM 8/28 – (Kauai) Roads are experiencing ponding at the following areas: Nawilili Rd at Lala Rd Halewili Rd at Kaumualii Hwy Kuhio Hwy near Wailua Golf Course. The Kuhio Hwy convoy operations from Waikoko to Wainiha remain on hold until conditions subside and the roadway is cleared. Update 2:00 PM 8/28 – (Kauai) Significant flooding has been reported on Kuhio Hwy in Wainiha. We will be working on clearing mud and debris on the road between Waikoko and Wainiha and will make an announcement on the convoy operations soon. There is still ponding on the road so access in the area will be limited to a single lane. Update 6:30 AM 8/29 – # Kauai # hitraffic update Our crews have cleared Kuhio Highway at Hanalei Bridge and will be opening soon. The Kūhiō Hwy convoy from Waikoko to Wainiha is closed as crews continue to clean the road. Update 7:20 AM 8/29 – #Kauai update Hanalei Bridge is open. Confirmed passengers are asked to check with NCL prior to coming to Honolulu Harbor by calling 1-80. NCL’s Pride of America is expected to arrive early Sunday, Aug. Normal operations resume with caution thanks to the efforts of the USCG, HHUG members and Captain of the Port Michael Long. Harbors statewide have been returned to “Hurricane Season Preparedness” as the harbor of Kaumalapau, Lanai was taken out of “Zulu” as of 11 AM 8/25. Please be patient and expect crowds at airports as airlines make up for earlier cancellations. Ticketed and confirmed passengers are reminded to check their flight status with their airline before heading to the airport.
